Everyone knows about the superheroes on the big screen, but what about the everyday heroes around us? Heroes who have made healthy lifestyle choices - like being smoke-free. Maybe they have always been smoke-free, and encourage others to quit. Or maybe they recently decided to kick the habit. In this essay contest, your class can share their stories with us and win some really cool prizes.

Winners will be announced by 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 30.

1. Open to students in grades 2-9, with judging falling into three categories: 2 & 3, 4-6 and 7-9.
2. Essay should focus on the student’s healthy hero, including lifestyle choices and attitudes with tobacco-free focus, and must be written by the student. Essays should be no fewer than 300 words, and no more than 750 words.
3. Entries must be submitted before 5 p.m. on Friday, March 14, through the SOS Web site: stampoutsmoking.com
