The 10th Striking Out Tobacco in Arkansas Conference Celebrated a Decade of Challenging the Tobacco Industry!
Summary: More than 130 advocates from all over the state gathered on September 13 to celebrate the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Arkansas’ 10th Annual Striking Out Tobacco in Arkansas conference. Some of the nation’s most distinguished tobacco control experts provided perspectives on issues regarding nicotine addiction, secondhand smoke, tobacco use among minority populations, and the importance of smoke-free environments. The experts included Dr. Stanton Glantz, Dr. Greg Connolly, Dr. Bruce Christiansen, Dr. Jeanette Noltenius, and Linda Cullers.
Conference Purpose: Bring together individuals & organizations whose primary purpose is to promote tobacco prevention, education and cessation efforts in Arkansas; Provide an opportunity for individuals & organizations to network and share information; Educate conference participants on the past, present and future status of tobacco control efforts; Recognize outstanding achievements in the name of tobacco prevention and education in Arkansas; and, Present new trends and success stories in tobacco control at the national, state and local level
