As part of the World No Tobacco Day in May, local tobacco-free coalitions around the state will gather in malls and shopping centers to share knowledge about the dangers of tobacco. Smokers will be encouraged to toss their cigarettes at the event, and they will enter their names in a drawing for a mall certificate.
Each year, Stamp Out Spit partners with the Arkansas State Fair to educate Arkansans about the dangers of smokeless tobacco. Attendees participate by riding the "SOS" electric bull and playing "rope the steer" contest. Not only can you tackle the bull, you can also battle the biggest bully, smokeless tobacco.
SOS participates every May in Arkansas’s largest festival, "Riverfest." During a three-day weekend, SOS meets with attendees of the "TEEN EXTREME" section, discussing the positive effects not smoking will have in their lives. SOS also provides Quitline information for those interested in quitting.
Join the SOS crew as we hit the road to participate in the annual Dino Dash and Discovery Fest 5k Walk. SOS, along with over 1,000 attendees, cheers on marathon runners while non-runners participate in the Dino Dig and live animal show. Fun for both kids and adults!
SOS participates in this event for the Hispanic community. This event is organized by the Dioceses of Little Rock and serves as a venue to provide services for the growing Hispanic community. Many organizations are present during this health-related fair, where over 1,000 attendees gather to learn how to leave a healthy lifestyle.
SOS celebrated this historic Mexican date with the community. During the past two years, SOS had a presence in events throughout the state. SOS has joined this celebration in Little Rock, De Queen, Russellville and Springdale.
